Hunting

Are you ready for the hunt of a lifetime? At Caribou Falls Lodge, we’re proud to offer some of the best black bear hunting territory in Northwest Canada.

Every year from May 1st through June 15th and August 15th through September 30th, our 200 acres of Bear Management Area await you and your hunting expedition. Our tree stands are baited 3-4 weeks prior to your arrival and are re-baited as often as necessary to maintain active stands. Two stands per hunter are provided.

In order to best position you for your hunt, we put our hunters on the stand between 3-4 pm the first few days of the hunt. This allows you time to fish and relax before heading out for your hunt and allows the bears time to become active for the day.

We are proud to have some of the best black bear hunting territory in Northwestern Ontario, and boast an 85% success rate over the past decade. To ensure a successful hunt, we book no more than 6 hunters per week.

Our bow and rifle stands have cleared shooting ranges of 10-100 yards. Stands are 5-25 feet high and are built amongst three to four trees to allow for a sturdy deck and a rail. Bear stands are located 200-600 yards from the shoreline and many are located in creek beds on the opposite side of the river and well away from the lodge. Our experienced guides will track and dress your bear.

To ensure proper licensure, firearm documentation and to learn proper border crossing procedures, please contact us at least 30 days prior to your hunt.
